Hello, everyone, and welcome! I’m Ellen!

I spent a good portion of my life hating my body and in a destructive relationship with food. Throughout middle school, high school, and the first half of college I was a vegetarian/vegan that hardly ate vegetables and I exercised purely for the purpose of burning calories. At several points I was so consumed by destructive thoughts that it controlled my life and endangered my health.

Starting in 2009, I developed stomach problems after a string of illnesses. After years of testing, missed diagnoses, and being my own advocate and self-experimenter, I constantly strive to find a unique balance of foods, fitness, and stress management techniques that are right for me and help me live my most healthful and vibrant life. I am now happier and healthier than ever!

Food is so much more than food. It has emotional, social, and biological components that go beyond just calories and nutrients. I spent years feeling confused about what “healthy eating” meant. Nutrition advice flows freely in our society, and not all of it is sound and some is even downright damaging.

Eating well does not have to be complicated. It does not have to be torturous effort. I try to make eating whole foods delicious and nourishing and adaptable to all lifestyles. Cooking is one way that we show love to each other, and sharing recipes and information is how I show my love and care to each of you.

Nutrition and health is not, and should not be, a one-size-fits-all approach. Wherever you are in life and whatever your unique situation requires, my goal is to help you find a plan that works for you through an individualized and holistic approach to coaching. I take in to account your current diet, lifestyle, and health conditions, but also your overall well-being. I am here to help facilitate your lifestyle change leading to life-long, sustainable health and wellness.
